People often say, with pride, 'I'm not interested in politics.' They might as well say, 'I'm not interested in my standard of living, my health, my job, my rights, my freedoms, my future or any future
I have a lot of sympathy for the non-political. So much of modern politics is designed to cause division. So much is rage-bait and distraction which keeps us from productive conversations. Sadly, I've had very few good conversations accross the asile. Only enough to count on one hand. It does seem like a waste of time. But we are political animals I'd go so far as to say that swearing off politics altogether is to not live a full life.
I am a recovering “I am not interested in politics” person- and thanks to your Substack I am now keenly following and interested in my future - thanks for your publication we need more people to read it!
